Delivering DeliveREE: the DeliveREE project's final conference was a huge success

A big thank you to everyone who joined us in the Hyatt Centric Hotel in the Liberties, Dublin, on Thursday, 9th April for Delivering DeliveREE, the DeliveREE project’s final conference, where we showcased the final results of the DeliveREE project and what they mean for the future of building upgrades in Ireland.

The DeliveREE conference comprised of a half-day of engaging presentations and Q&As, divided into two sessions.

Session 1: The case for guaranteed performance: policy, funding and scale

Session 1 shared the key findings from the DeliveREE project and made a case for using guaranteed performance contracts in comparison to traditional energy upgrade models. Presentations included:

  • Codema’s Joe Hayden presenting the story of DeliveREE and the benefits of DeliveREE’s proven decarbonisation delivery model
  • A message from Monica Ardeleanu, CINEA, outlining the European Commission’s support package for building decarbonisation
  • Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI)’s Gerard Donnellan on SEAI’s Pathfinder Programme and how it can build confidence and capacity in the retrofit market
  • KOSMOS Founder and CEO, Ross Griffin, presenting their analysis of the DeliveREE model and EPC
Codema's Joe Hayden presenting the story of DeliveREE

Session 2: What it takes to deliver: Risk, reality, results and replication

Session 2 shared practical lessons learned from local authorities in Ireland who are using the DeliveREE model to decarbonise high energy use buildings in order to meet their 2030 climate targets, as well as contractor lessons from delivering guaranteed performance on the ground. It finished with outlining how the DeliveREE model can be replicated by organisations across Ireland and how it can act as a decarbonisation pathway to achieving guaranteed energy and carbon savings. Presentations included:

  • South Dublin County Council‘s Juliene Helbert and the the Mid-East Energy Unit’s Declan Keogh sharing learnings from the client’s perspective
  • Contractor lessons from the ground, from Daniel Ring of Lawler Sustainability and Connel McMullan of Alternative Heat Ltd
  • Codema’s Gráinne Mac Namara presenting the DeliveREE model’s suite of procedures and template documents
Session 2 panel of DeliveREE clients and contractors sharing their experiences and learnings in answer to audience questions

Networking and audience participation

We were delighted to bring together a mix of attendees from local authorities, public sector bodies, commercial building owners, contractors, energy consultants and more. Networking was an important part of the day, including a coffee break and then a networking lunch at the end of the conference, to encourage conversations and link people and organisations, as well as Q&A sessions that allowed audience members to interact with the panels presenting.
