Event programme launched for Dublin Climate Action Week 2026
Dublin Climate Action Week (#DCAW26) returns this year with a dynamic programme of events aimed at inspiring individuals, communities and businesses to take meaningful action on climate change. Taking place from the 11th – 17th May, the week will showcase Dublin’s commitment to building a cleaner, greener and more climate resilient future.
What's happening during Dublin Climate Action Week
Organised and delivered by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Fingal County Council, Dublin City Council, South Dublin County Council, the Dublin Metropolitan Climate Action Regional Office (CARO) and Codema, Dublin Climate Action Week will feature workshops, talks, exhibitions, school programmes, community events and interactive activities across the city and county. Events will focus on key themes including sustainable transport, energy efficiency, nature-based solutions, circular economy and community‑led climate solutions.
Launching the programme James Phelan, Director of Infrastructure and Climate Change, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, David Storey, Director of Environment, Climate Action and Sports, Fingal County Council, Teresa Walsh, Director of Climate Action, South Dublin County Council and Patricia Reidy, Executive Manager, Climate Action, Dublin City Council jointly stated:
“Climate action happens locally, and the events during Dublin Climate Action Week will empower people to make a difference. From considering small lifestyle changes to implementing large‑scale policy initiatives, this week will highlight how everyone has a role in tackling the climate crisis.”
In addition to supporting the Dublin Local Authorities with a number of events, Codema will also organise the following events, which are now open for registration:
- Wednesday, 13th May, 11am – 12.30pm: Tour of the Tallaght District Heating Scheme – register now
- Thursday, 14th May, 10am – 11am: Webinar – Proven decarbonisation model: Final results of the DeliveREE project – register now
- Thursday, 14th May, 1pm – 2pm: Love your bike – Free maintenance and repair workshop – register now
All the events will align with Ireland’s national climate targets and the Dublin Local Authorities’ Climate Action Plans, reinforcing the ambition to reduce emissions, improve air quality and support a just transition for all communities. Residents, businesses, organisations, and community groups will be encouraged to get involved by attending events, hosting activities, or sharing their own climate initiatives with a wider audience. All events will be free and open to the public, with both in‑person and online options available.
