About the award
Ireland’s Climate Change Leadership Awards aims to recognise organisations, teams and individuals who are making a real impact. The Raytown Energy Dock has been nominated for the category of Climate Action Initiative of the Year, an award which recognises initiatives that deliver meaningful climate action through measurable emissions reduction, adaptation or behavioural change.
The Raytown Energy Dock
The Raytown Energy Dock was established by Codema and launched in October of 2025. The Raytown Energy Dock serves as Dublin’s first dedicated, community-based free energy advice clinic. It is open to the public every Thursday from 9:30am to 12:30pm from its base in the Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre (RICC). Members of the public can book confidential, one-to-one slots online by email or by phone, with walk-ins also welcome! At the Raytown Energy Dock, people can avail of independent, practical advice on any energy-related query they may have, from navigating SEAI grants to understanding how to read your energy bill. Our Home Energy Saving Kits (HESKs) are also available to borrow from the energy dock (each kit contains five practical tools including a plug-in energy monitor, thermal leak detector and temperature and humidity thermometer) enabling members of the public to assess their home’s energy use and identify areas for improvement.
In addition to the weekly clinic, the Raytown Energy Dock runs different workshops and outreach events throughout the year, collaborating with organisations such as MABS, St Vincent de Paul and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).
The initiative is open to all households and members of the public, whether people own, rent or share their home but it is of particular benefit to people most affected by energy poverty and least likely to engage with national energy schemes without local, face-to-face support.
As of now, almost 100 members of the public have been supported through our one-to-one energy advice sessions, with over 6,000 households reached through digital outreach and word-of-mouth promotion.
The initiative is supported by the EU REGEN project (co-funded by the Horizon Europe programme).
Ireland’s Climate Change Leadership Awards Ceremony will be taking place on Friday the 9th of October 2026, with the winners announced on the night.
