Great turnout for the launch of the Raytown Energy Dock

We were delighted to welcome so many members of the public to the launch of the Raytown Energy Dock, Dublin’s first energy advice clinic, at Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre.

There are many people pictured at the launch of the Raytown Energy Dock in the cafe of the Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre. Some are standing, some are seated and having conversations.

The launch was marked with a coffee morning in the centre’s café, where members of the public came together to learn more about the new service, meet the team and pick up practical tips on saving energy at home.

As households continue to face rising energy costs, the Raytown Energy Dock will provide a trusted, local source of free, independent and confidential advice for people who want to reduce their energy use, lower their bills and improve comfort at home. The service is designed to support everyone, whether they own, rent or share their home.

Speaking at the launch, Katie Harrington, Public and Stakeholder Engagement Executive Manager with Codema, said:

“The Raytown Energy Dock is about giving local people a welcoming place to come for trusted, independent and practical energy advice. Whether someone is worried about their bills, looking to cut energy use or interested in learning about home energy upgrades, we want to help them feel informed, supported and more confident about the options available to them.”

Those who attended the launch were treated to tea, coffee and refreshments, and received a free Home Energy Starter Kit. The kit includes items such as a draught excluder, faucet aerator, shower timer, fridge-freezer thermometer and LED bulbs, which can help households reduce energy waste and save money.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the launch and helped make the coffee morning launch such a success.

About the Raytown Energy Dock

The Raytown Energy Dock is open every Thursday from 9.30am – 12.30pm on the first floor of Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre. It offers a range of free, confidential services, including:

  • Practical, low-cost tips on reducing energy use at home
  • Impartial advice on lowering energy bills and switching supplier
  • Information on grants available for home energy upgrades
  • Access to a free Home Energy Saving Kit for local residents, containing five easy-to-use tools to help measure home energy use and identify areas for improvement

Codema established the Raytown Energy Dock in collaboration with Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre, with support from the REGEN project, funded by the EU’s Horizon programme.
