Here are some simple tips that you can use to save energy at work.

Switch off the lights
Switch off lights where possible, especially on bright or sunny days, or when you are the last person to leave a room.

Use desk lamps
Use desk top lamps with CFL or LED light bulbs instead of switching on the main lights.

Make the most of daylight
Open blinds in your office during the day to maximise natural daylight.

Set your computer monitor on standby
Set your computer monitor to go into standby mode when not in use for more than 30 seconds.

Turn off Appliances
When leaving the office in the evening, check that all appliances are switched off properly.

Power save mode
Use the power save function on your phone so you don’t have to charge it as often.

On your bike
Walk or cycle to work - it beats waiting for a bus in the cold and it's cheaper too! Remember to wear your high visibility vest for safety.

Take the stairs instead of the lift
Especially if you are only going up or down 1-2 levels. It keeps you fit too!

Don't overfill the kettle
Only use as much water as you need when boiling the kettle.

Only print when necessary
Minimise printing and photocopying, only print what you really have to.
