Dublin City Council's Fabric Upgrade Programme is continuing to upgrade the council's social housing stock to be more energy efficient, with funding from SEAI. Between 2013 - 2017, Dublin City Council has upgraded 8,057 of its social housing units; these upgrades have resulted in savings of 272,476 MWh and €29.6 million to date.
The energy upgrades carried out as part of Phase 1 of the programme involved measures such as attic, water tank and pipe insulation, new windows, lagging jackets for hot water cylinders and cavity wall fill insulation.
