We are delighted that our Home Energy Savings Kits are now available in 4 libraries in Sligo. They can be found in Sligo Central Library, Ballymote Community Library, Tubbercurry Community Library, and Enniscrone Branch Library.

This is the first time the kits are available to borrow in Sligo.

The kit is easy to use and is a tangible way to become aware of energy usage and possible savings in the home. This is increasingly important given the ongoing energy crisis. 

The kit includes 5 easy-to-use tools and 6 excercises. These help people to get a better understanding of the energy usage in their home. It also identifies possible solutions and highlights problem areas in the home. These may be as simple as drawing attention to energy draining appliances or to larger problems such as identifying possible gaps in insulation where heat is escaping. Once problems are identified, suggestions on how to improve energy efficiency are included in our Guide to Home Energy Savings. 

The four libraries in Sligo are joining a network of over 120 libraries nationally that have kits available to borrow. The expansion of the network is a testament to the kits popularity and practicality. The kits are usually available to borrow for a two-week period.
