Launch of Home Energy Saving Kits into all Dublin City Public Libraries

27th February, 2017

Help us celebrate the launch of the Home Energy Saving Kits into ALL Dublin City Council Libraries by the Minister for Communications, Climate Action & Environment, Denis Naughten TD.

The Home Energy Saving Kits contain six practical tools to help the public save energy and cut costs and, following a successful pilot in 2016, will now be available to borrow free-of-charge from all Dublin City Council library branches!

The tools address three key areas of energy use in the home - space heating, hot water and electricity consumption - and can identify common issues in Dublin homes such as lack of insulation, poor ventilation and the appliances that might be driving up electricity bills.

Codema has teamed up with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to expand this pilot project and put special emphasis on feedback from the homeowners via a survey form included in the kits. Additionally, the borrowers can use a worksheet to record and compare their findings and receive a guide on what next steps to take to make their home more comfortable through energy efficiency.

Join us at the launch event at Pearse St library on Tuesday, 7th March 2017 at 9am and find out how you or your community can use the toolkit as a first step on your energy journey!
