Great turnout at the #Councils4ClimateAction events

20th February, 2019

The Dublin Local Authorities received an overwhelming response from the public to their #Councils4ClimateAction events that took place throughout Dublin during February 2019.

These events had a huge turnout from members of the public and were organised with the support of Codema as part of the public consultation process for the four Dublin Local Authorities’ Climate Change Action Plans, which runs until the 25th of March 2019.

The events showed how climate change and greenhouse gas emissions continue to affect Dublin and how the Councils proposes to deal with these issues. These events also included a range of information stands where the public can get advice on everything from saving energy in their homes to reducing their waste to measuring their carbon footprint, such as:

  • Demonstrations of the Home Energy Saving Kit
  • Energy saving advice from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland
  • 30-second cycle challenge with BleeperBike
  • Electric car test drives
  • Composting demonstrations and info on reducing your waste
  • Youth groups such as Comhairle na nÓg
