Winners of Ace Awards announced this Friday, 28th November

Codema is very excited to announce that the Ace Awards will take place this Friday, November 28th, at a prestigious event in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

The awards will recognise achievements in renewable and sustainable energy in three specific categories; Energy Neutral Village, Community-Based Renewable Energy and Energy-Smart Municipalities.

In total, there are 17 entries and excitement is mounting to see who will be revealed as the overall winners on Friday.  

The event will be attended by the Programme Director of the INTERREG IVB NWE programme, Mr Ruut Louwers and the King’s Commissioner, Mr Clemens Cornielje, will welcome the 80 guests who will be attending from community organisations, energy agencies, local authorities and universities from across North West Europe.  

As lead partner of the Ace project, Codema's Gerry Wardell will act as Chair of the Awards.

The 17 entries were shortlisted from preliminary competitions which were held in each of the Ace partner regions; Ireland, United Kingdom, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

As part of the awards programme, all finalists are invited to join the Ace partners on a study trip to the village of Loenen, where they will learn about the village’s ‘energy transition’ journey. Following the study trip and an organic lunch, the Ace Awards celebrations will take place in Gelderland’s House of Province.
