BUDI – European Building Directive

‘Pilot Actions To Develop A Functioning Market For Energy Performance Certificates’

The overall goal of this project was to prepare for the implementation of the EU Buildings Directive and accelerate the successful introduction of Energy Performance Certificates. The project ran for 31 months (January 2005 to July 2007).

Codema was in partnership with 6 partners from 5 European cities and regions:

  • Austria (Graz Energy Agency & LEV)
  • Finland (Central Finland Energy Agency)
  • France (Rhonalpenergie)
  • Germany (Berlin Energy Agency)
  • Slovenia (BCEI ZRMK)

Each region carried out trial certification of 10 Blocks of Apartments and 8 Public Buildings, as pilot demonstrations. This developed local expertise and experience in Dublin, through training of surveyors.
