Codema is the leading energy agency for Dublin. For over 10 years, we have been committed to improving the energy efficiency of Dublin homes and workplaces, while also creating sustainable solutions for the city’s infrastructure. We act as energy adviser to the four Dublin local authorities and also work with the private sector in developing an energy-smart city.
Company Background
Codema was founded in 1997 as a not-for-profit limited company. It was set up on the initiative of Dublin City Council, with support from the European Commission. Since then, we have acted as the sustainable energy adviser to Dublin City Council and - as of January 2009 - we now act as adviser to the other three Dublin local authorities; Dun Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, Fingal County Council and South Dublin County Council.
Our Aim
We aim to make sustainability the norm in Dublin, while contributing to the global issue of combating climate change.
Our Work
We work with both the public and private sectors to create wide-ranging sustainable solutions for Dublin city, including residential, business and infrastructural projects.
In the private sector, our company operates as energy and sustainability advisor for building developments and other major projects. For residential and commercial developments that need to meet specific energy standards, we advise at both the master-plan and the detailed design stages of a project and can work in close liaison with other professionals on a team.
We understand the dynamics of both the public and the private sectors and can facilitate the gap between the two. We are highly focused on maintaining the balance between business and environmental objectives.
